A 3-year daycare waitlist changed the direction of my career.

When I became a mother, I already had an MBA in Human Resources and years of experience in management, recruiting, hiring, training, and employee development.

I wanted to continue doing meaningful work, but without access to childcare, a conventional return was not realistic. By the time that might have changed, the pandemic had changed everything again.

I needed a different way to use the experience I had already built—and résumé writing became that path.

FROM HR LEADERSHIP TO CAREER STRATEGY

Earlier in my career, I held management and human resources roles with Neiman Marcus, Tommy Hilfiger, Beaver Run Resort, and Breckenridge Distillery.

I recruited, hired, trained, and managed employees firsthand. I saw how employers evaluated candidates and how the right positioning could elevate someone from one of many qualified applicants to the clear choice.

Résumé writing allowed me to bring that experience to the other side of the hiring process.

After developing my craft with some of the résumé industry’s leading firms, I founded KE Branding to offer a more personal, strategic, and consultative experience.

Today, I am a Denver-area résumé writer and career strategist serving clients throughout Colorado and nationwide.

Over the past seven years, I have helped hundreds of professionals navigate career pivots, promotions, workforce reentry, executive transitions, and unexpected career disruptions.

Most of my clients don’t lack experience. They struggle to recognize what makes that experience valuable—and communicate it in a way that resonates with recruiters, hiring managers, and executive decision-makers.

I combine career strategy, personal branding, and professional storytelling to help clients:

My own career has not developed in isolation from the rest of my life.

While building KE Branding, my husband and I have also balanced building a custom hockey business, raising two young children, and navigating the uncertainty entrepreneurship, a global pandemic, and aging parents.

As our businesses grew, our responsibilities shifted. During some seasons, one of us carried more of the business-building or income-generating work. During others, one of us carried more at home. We continually adjust around what our family and businesses needed.

That experience has shaped the way I work with clients.

I understand that career decisions intersect with family responsibilities, childcare, finances, caregiving, burnout, identity, ambition, and the realities of a particular season. A career move is rarely only about finding another job. It is often about building a life that works better.

I don’t simply document where someone has been. I help them recognize what they have built, clarify what they want next, and communicate their value in a way that creates new possibilities.
